Tragedy of Power
A downloadable game
Tragedy of Power is a short game that will make you enact the story of a single character that has or gains some kind of power that brings a curse upon them.
Whether this power is supernatural or something more mundane is up to the players.
Play the story of a politician of our world (or another). Tell the tale of some supernatural being dealing with the consequences of their lack of humanity (or their desire for it). Disclose the truth about a new scientific discovery and the genius scholar who brought it to the world attention. Follow the steps of the hero who discovers everything about those great responsabilities (and what if they don't want to have them). Discover all the consequences of finding and keeping a mysterious artifact and the effect it starts to have on life (and the temptation to use it).
The character will have to struggle between the curse that will destroy things in their life and their own willpower that will grant them new things to hold on to.
You can play this game on your own or with a group of friends. Be sure to talk about limits and safety with your fellow players. This game could get rough.
This game was inspired by "Sword Poem" by ahcoffeebeans. Go check it out! I loved the game, but I wanted to try something that would give the character some chance to survive.
If you need instruction on how to build the 1page zine format, you can check this video!
This is not the first game I write, but it's the first one I post, so I'd especially love some feedback!!
